The day my life changed forever.

"I woke up to a flood warning at 5 AM and proceeded to get up and go check on Ember to make sure she was OK. I looked out my front window and it was raining but honestly I didn’t think that it was going to be this serious so I went back to bed. I woke up to a phone call from my mom at about 8 AM, went outside and the creek had risen behind my house. Within 10 minutes, my worst nightmare as a trach mom happened.

When I had Ember she was 1 pound 7 ounces. She fought for over 295 days in the NICU and now I am clenching onto her for dear life as I place her on my mattress. I watched helplessly as my car, "Chocolate," was swept away. After a few minutes, I heard voices and knew we would be rescued. I left 107 A luff street with my warrior princess and my sobriety. However, we lost everything. We did not have renters insurance. I would love to find a place to rent, purchase a car, and start to rebuild my life with my daughter."
